A law enforcement official from the central England region has called for an urgent review of the decision to ban Maccabi Tel Aviv's fans from being present at the forthcoming game.
Simon Foster, who oversees the force, explains that this request aims to verify whether the prohibition is appropriate, necessary, warranted, reasonable, and a proportionate step to achieve a lawful objective.
"This should involve evaluation of every and any possible suitable, alternative options," the official emphasizes.
The commissioner has also asked to examine the written decision and recommendation from the safety committee, along with the police assessment.
He stresses, though, that the final decision rests with the advisory group and the authorities.
